New artist for mural
Randall Hedden is now the artist for the Red Skelton mural. Painting begins on May 25. Hedden painted the mural on the Old Gimbel Bond building. (Vincennes S-C 05/10/2006)

Michelle Memering decorates a statue of Red Skelton as 'Freddy the Freeloader' in the showroom of Memering Motorplex, 1949 Hart St., Tuesday. This statue and several others will be placed at businesses around the community in time for the inaugural Red Skelton Festival on June 10-11. The June 10 formal Gala and Opening at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center will star the Smother Brothers and Red Skelton impersonator, Tom Mullica. The $150 ticket price includes a donation to build a museum to display and take care of the nearly $3 million collection of Red Skelton memorabilia donated to Vincennes University by Red's widow, Lothian Skelton.
